ALL HEALING STARTS WITH THE HEART

Rabab Al-Amin, M.Ac., L.Ac., Dipl Ac.(NCCAOM), C.Z.B.

Acupuncture is an ancient functional healing art that aims to address the root cause of the illness | dis-ease | discomfort, and empower anyone to fulfill their utmost potential on all of life's dimensions.

My journey toward becoming a Chinese Medicine physician began when I was a child looking for truth and questioning the Mystery of life, and for ways to connect with people. I focused on the heart in my studies and became a registered medical diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer. I gained tremendous experience working with cardiac patients in Maryland. I became the human catalyst between the high technology equipment, the cold and sometimes harsh hospital environments and my cardiac patients.

I eventually injured my neck, shoulder and wrists from the repetitive work and developed carpal tunnel syndrome. Doctors here in Maryland advised me to have surgery on my wrists, at the same time that they told me I would have to live with neck pain for the rest of my life and that I should apply for disability because I qualify for it! By then the pain was already keeping me up at night.

A friend suggested I try acupuncture, and I did perhaps on a whim. My acupuncturist told me: My pain is my teacher, and my body is wise. If I listen to its wisdom, I may learn what it is trying to tell me. He spent a good amount of time listening to me and asking me questions that I didn't think were related to the pain. By the time my session was over, I felt like I was being given a second chance.

I ended up not needing any surgery at all, let alone being disabled. While my pain somehow seemed to ease itself away. I never felt so healthy, and I immediately enrolled to begin acupuncture studies.

Today I am licensed and certified in acupuncture, Chinese Herbal medicine, acupuncture detoxification, facial rejuvenation acupuncture, Microneedling, Nanoneedling and Zero Balancing.

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese art and holistic approach to healing. Chinese herbology is like music in plant form… the herbs enter the body and begin to heal. Acupuncture detoxification gently treats various diseases of addiction. Facial rejuvenation and literally erases the lines in one's face, at the same time that it enhances the body, mind and spirit. Microneedling is the application of very fine vibrating needles on the face/skin to treat scars and to erase wrinkles. Zero Balancing is a gentle type of body work that leads to profound experiences and allows for life to unfold in beautiful ways with much ease. One of the ways Dr. Fritz Smith, founder of Zero Balancing describes ZB is:  " Zero Balancing is a subliminal therapy, it is like massage with clothes on, like counseling without talking".  It is more gentle than chiropractics, a sort of internal Feng Shui of the body as it moves one into balance, and sets life in healthy motion.

I trained in the art of Contemporary Chinese Pulse Diagnosis with Lonny S Jarret for 4 years.

I strive to bring healing to my patients, to empower each and everyone to come to better health, and bring to consciousness a new way of living a more balanced fulfilled life. I promise to do no harm and to hold everyone in the highest possible regard.

The choice of acupuncture points, herbs, and other treatments awakens patients to their own healing potential. Finding the point, or the sound with the clearest resonance in any one moment is how I remind the body that it has the capacity to heal itself and the potential to evolve beyond one’s limited mind. By providing a tranquil space and non-judgmental listening, I support my patients in finding the tools to make often huge, positive changes in their own lives.

I was elected as Vice President of public affairs for MAS (Maryland Acupuncture Society) and served on the board where I served as an instrument of love, unity, inclusivity, and cohesiveness to the community. My believe is that we can all become a force of positive change in this world.
